If you've never been to the Alamo its actually very small and in the middle of downtown. Since it was spring break the line to get in was longer than I have ever seen. I've been to the Alamo many times and I have never waited in line to get in. So I went to the back and snuck in though the exit....
Anyway the whole reason for this post is that they had a Fess Parker Memorial at the Alamo! Right outside the exit they had a framed picture of Fess as Davy Crockett with a coon skin hat on top. They also had a guest book people could sign and write a memory of Fess that was going to be sent to his family.
In case you're wondering the Alamo employee laughed when I asked her about the basement. She said people do not ask as often as they used to but it still happens. She also told me that there are 2 basements on the Alamo grounds but not one under the Alamo itself. If you have no clue what I am talking about....sorry.
